  Optiflex Clear Hydrophobic Foldable Intra Ocular lens have a unique posterior design and are made from material containing 1- 2% water. This product also has the UV absorbing properties, which are similar to those of the Optiflex hydrophilic lenses.

High Index of refraction imparts:
Excellent folding and unfolding before and after the insertion
Lowered internally reflected glare
Reduced surface scattering
Smaller incision required due to thinner lens

High Tensile strength:
Damage resistance during folding and insertion
Reduced possibility of forcep and folding marks

Good cytological and biocompatible properties:

Effect on blood aqueos barriers:
Optiflex hydrophobic lenses are recommended in patients with pathologies predisposing to blood aqueous barrier damage.

The cellular reaction on the surface of the lens:
The possibility of lens epithelial cell migration on to posterior capsule is reduced by the fish tail design. Optiflex hydrophobic lens have very low tendency of epithelial cell outgrowth and slow maturation rate reaction of macrophages, which provides good biological compatibility leading to negligible inflammatory reaction.

Effect on lens capsule:

The capsular biocompatibility of Optiflex hydrophobic lens increases adhesion to the IOL due to its nature as compared to the capsule than hydrophyllic material, which decreases incidents of PCO and IOL decentration.
